How the Ford Bronco Handles Off-Road Challenges: A Review

January 30th, 2025 by

Off-road enthusiasts and adventure seekers, take note! The Ford Bronco is not just a head-turner on the highways; it’s a beast when it comes to off-road terrain. In our latest video, we took the Bronco off the beaten path to truly put it to the test and see how it handles challenging terrains. Spoiler alert: It did not disappoint. Let’s dive into our experience and see what makes the Ford Bronco a true off-road contender.

Setting the Stage

Our adventure began with high hopes but cautious expectations. Having previously driven the Bronco on city roads with Patrick, we appreciated its design and on-road performance. However, today was all about getting down and dirty in the rugged landscape.

First Impressions

Initially, I must admit, my off-road driving skills were far from expert. But the Bronco proved to be incredibly user-friendly for someone like me—let’s just say I’m self-admittedly not a competent off-road driver. The real test was to see how the vehicle’s features could compensate for my lack of experience.

4-High Performance

We started the test in 4-High, designed for moderate off-road conditions like gravel and bouldery surfaces. Almost immediately, we could feel the Bronco’s superior traction. Going over rough terrain, there was minimal jostling inside the cabin. The vehicle maintained a steady grip, demonstrating excellent maneuverability. Turning around on uneven ground posed no problem; the Bronco handled it with ease.

4-Low and Advanced Traction

Switching to 4-Low increased my confidence even more. We even did reverse maneuvers in this setting and felt entirely in control. The backup camera provided a wide view, making it easier to navigate despite the challenging terrain behind us. With the RPMs higher, the performance was robust, and we felt every bit of the claimed power and control.

Next, we tried the 4A (Automatic) mode, which adjusts traction as needed. Like a “knife through butter,” the Bronco powered through the terrain seamlessly. Regardless of the rocky and rubble-strewn landscape, the Bronco adapted itself to provide a smooth driving experience.

Final Thoughts

The Ford Bronco is not just an eye-catching SUV; it’s an off-road marvel. With various driving modes tailored to different terrains, it offers versatility like no other. Whether you’re a novice off-road driver or a seasoned professional, the Bronco adapts to your skill level, making off-road driving both fun and safe.

So, if you’re considering an adventurous addition to your garage, we highly recommend checking out the Ford Bronco. For more details, you can view our current inventory at Smail Ford in Greensburg, or visit us right off Route 30. Until next time, enjoy the ride and happy off-roading!
