Nick Drexler Wins Scholarship Through Ford ASSET Program

Congrats to Nick Drexler, Smail Ford apprentice technician, for winning scholarship to CCAC through the Ford ASSET program!

From Ford: "ASSET is the only program with a paid internship allowing you to earn while you learn. Students alternate for six to eight weeks in the classroom and six to eight weeks with their sponsoring Ford or Lincoln dealer over a two year period. At the end of the two years, they earn an Associate’s Degree and valuable in dealer experience."

19th Annual Ford Freedom Award Spotlights Pittsburgh Playwright August Wilson

Ford Motor Company, in collaboration with the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, will celebrate the positive contributions of African Americans in arts and culture at the 19th annual Ford Freedom Award program.

This year’s Ford Freedom Award recipient is the late August Wilson, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright and author. Wilson is best known for his play “Fences,” the recipient of the 1987 Tony Award for best play, Broadway’s highest honor. His wife Constanza Romero Wilson will accept the award in his honor.

100 Years Young: Monday April 17, 2017 is Centenary Day for Ford in Ireland

Monday, April 17, this year marks exactly 100 years since Henry Ford established Henry Ford & Son Limited on the Marina in Cork, his ancestral home city.

 

It also will kick off a week-long series of activity that will see great-grandson of Henry Ford and Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company, William Clay Ford, Jr., arrive in Cork to mark the centenary and participate in a number of commemorative events, including a visit back to the ancestral home of the Ford family.

Ford Joins Kode With Klossy, Igniting Movement to Educate Young Women in Computer Science & Coding

With the U.S. Bureau of Statistics projecting jobs in science, technology, engineering and math fields will grow to more than 9 million by 2022, Ford is joining with Kode With Klossy to expand offerings of its free, two-week summer coding camps for girls. Ford Aims to Reduce Traffic Congestion Issues with New Transportation Initiative
